Colorado Thrives is excited to announce that as part of its partnership with the Elevate Quantum consortium, the U.S. Department of Commerce has designated Colorado as a Regional Technology Hub for Quantum Information Technology (QIT). This designation is a significant step in creating job opportunities and economic mobility for Coloradans while advancing technology and boosting American competitiveness.
The designation is part of the Biden-Harris administration’s Investing in America agenda and the Tech Hubs program, authorized by the bipartisan CHIPS and Science Act. The program is designed to drive regional innovation and job creation by strengthening a region’s capacity to manufacture, commercialize, and deploy technology that will advance American competitiveness.
Elevate Quantum: Positioning Colorado as a Quantum Leader
Elevate Quantum, a consortium of industry, academic, and government partners, is dedicated to establishing Colorado as a global leader in quantum technology. The consortium, with special recognition to Dan Caruso and ZOMALab for their leadership and commitment, has been instrumental in securing this designation for Colorado.
As quantum technology matures, it promises to create good jobs for Coloradans across various educational backgrounds. This aligns with Colorado Thrives commitment to upskill or place 30,000 Coloradans into good jobs by 2030 through our employer-powered approach.
Colorado Thrives is actively working in quantum as one of our key industry focus areas. By uniting Colorado’s leading employers and better aligning demand for talent with supply from the state’s education and training system, we are helping to ensure all Coloradans can benefit from emerging opportunities in quantum technology.
