We are excited to share that Colorado Thrives has been selected as one of 16 organizations worldwide to receive a grant from the GitLab Foundation’s AI for Economic Opportunity Fund, a highly competitive initiative supporting organizations using artificial intelligence to expand economic opportunity.
The fund, launched by the GitLab Foundation in partnership with OpenAI, supports organizations developing practical AI applications that can increase incomes, improve career mobility, and help workers access new opportunities in the changing economy. The initiative reflects a core belief that the promise of AI is not just innovation, but the potential to unlock meaningful economic opportunity for people who need it most.

At Colorado Thrives, this grant will help advance new capabilities within CareerFit Colorado, our AI-powered career navigation and job matching platform developed in partnership with FutureFit AI.
Through this work, we are focused on accelerating opportunity for local talent at Colorado companies in high-demand sectors. By strengthening how employers, training providers, and workforce partners share insights and collaborate, CareerFit Colorado helps more Coloradans navigate clear pathways into careers in industries such as advanced manufacturing, construction, healthcare, and emerging technology fields.
Our goal is simple. We want to ensure that more Coloradans can access living-wage careers with Colorado employers, while helping companies build stronger pipelines of local talent.
As part of the AI for Economic Opportunity cohort, Colorado Thrives will collaborate with an exceptional group of peer organizations advancing innovative applications of AI to expand economic mobility, while also receiving technical support as we continue developing this work.
This grant is one of several AI-focused initiatives we are launching this year to strengthen workforce systems and accelerate economic opportunity across Colorado. We look forward to sharing more in the months ahead.
