About Colorado Thrives
Colorado Thrives is a coalition of CEOs and business leaders from many of Colorado’s leading employers working together to strengthen the state’s workforce. We focus on creating pathways to quality jobs and increasing economic mobility for Coloradans by aligning employer demand with education and training opportunities. Through an employer-powered approach, Colorado Thrives collaborates with industry partners, educators, and community organizations to help ensure Coloradans have access to meaningful careers while helping employers find and develop the talent they need. The organization has set a goal of helping place or upskill 30,000 Coloradans into good jobs by 2030.
Colorado Thrives works to build career pathways in high-demand sectors – healthcare, skilled trades & construction, and business – and is actively shaping a strategy to support AI talent and transformation in Colorado.
One of our initiatives, CareerFit Colorado, is a career marketplace designed to increase visibility for students and job seekers around internships and early-career opportunities across key career pathways. The platform connects local talent with Colorado employers offering living-wage career opportunities.
Position Overview
Colorado Thrives is seeking a motivated undergraduate or graduate student interested in technology, business, AI, or data analytics to leverage AI in support of priority initiatives. The AI Fellow will specifically support our emerging AI talent strategy as we build data flows, integrate job market data, and stand-up communication tools (e.g., website page) to showcase Colorado’s evolving ecosystem.
The AI Fellow will also play a leading role supporting CareerFit Colorado, the AI-powered job platform connecting Colorado talent to Colorado opportunities. Workstreams may include an audit of weekly workflows and tasks, scoping automation opportunities, and building automations and tools to deliver high-value tasks (e.g., weekly job and internship blast, analysis of job supply data, dashboard building).
This is a full-time internship (40 hours per week). The AI Fellow will be expected to work in person at the Colorado Thrives office at least 3 days a week, with 2 days a week remote.
As a benefit of the internship, you will also join a statewide cohort of AI Fellows, collaborate with peers, and engage with Colorado’s broader AI ecosystem through professional development and networking opportunities.
